At Little Mountain Coffee, every bag you purchase transforms the lives of children at The Little Mountain School in Joya Honda, Guatemala, through the Lexington-based non-profit Guatemalan Educational Outreach (GEO).

Access to Education
Every one of our students—from Pre-K through 7th grade—receives personalized instruction and support that few in their community could otherwise access. By maintaining eight grade levels with a 99% retention rate, we ensure continuity of learning and foster a true educational community of excellence, guided by teachers committed to ethical and moral principles. Little Mountain Coffee’s cooperative model guarantees that 100% of net profits directly fund these efforts, making each cup you enjoy a brick in the foundation of a child’s future.
Daily Nutrition
For many of our students, the school-provided meals are the most reliable source of nourishment they receive each day. Serving 436 meals daily not only fuels young minds but also directly combats the effects of childhood malnutrition, aligning with GEO’s broader goal of holistic development. When children aren’t hungry, they can focus, participate, and thrive—turning basic sustenance into sustained academic success.
Smart & Accountable Giving
$0.96 of every dollar donated to GEO goes straight to the school, demonstrating our commitment to financial accountability and maximum impact. At a cost of just $1,163 per student in 2024 (projected to be $1,280 in 2025), your support covers instruction, materials, and meals—an investment in a lifetime of opportunities at less than $4 a day.
First-Ever Field Trips
In 2024 we broke new ground by taking our students beyond the classroom for the very first time. Pre-K through 2nd graders roamed the zoo, marveling at animals they’d only ever seen in books, while 3rd through 6th graders spent a day of thrills at a local amusement park. These experiences spark curiosity, build confidence, and remind every child that learning can—and should—be an adventure.
Joy-Filled Events
Our Family Day brings parents and students together in games, laughter, and shared pride, reinforcing the vital role of community in a child’s education. Special events—like gymnastics and cheer showcases complete with face-painting—and visits from partners such as Avícola, which provide snacks and gifts, fill our school with moments of pure joy and help children see themselves as valued members of a larger family.
